Week 3

Image
Week 3 at St. Mary’s School was engaging and eventful. I continued teaching units and measurement to Class 8 and atomic models to Class 9. The students showed great enthusiasm and understanding, particularly with the interactive activities we used to explore the topics. This week’s highlights included Yoga Day and Music Day. Yoga Day was a refreshing experience, with students participating eagerly in yoga sessions, which added a sense of calm and focus to the school environment. Music Day was equally vibrant, as students showcased their musical talents and filled the school with a joyous atmosphere. Alongside teaching, I carried out my morning, lunch, and noon duties. Morning duty was an opportunity to greet students with a positive start to their day. During lunch and noon, I enjoyed seeing students unwind and interact, which helped me feel more connected to their daily lives. Overall, the week was fulfilling, with the celebrations enhancing the school’s lively spirit. The...

internship day 14

Today at St. Mary's School, I had the opportunity to teach students in class VIII F1 during the 4th hour. The focus of the lesson was on rules for writing units. I began by explaining the key principles, such as: 1. Using lowercase letters for unit symbols (e.g., m for meter, kg for kilogram) 2. Capitalizing the first letter of units named after people (e.g., Watt, Celsius) 3. Leaving a space between the number and unit (e.g., 5 km, not 5km) To reinforce these concepts, I provided several examples on the board. The students seemed engaged and asked thoughtful questions. Following the explanation, I assigned a few activities for the class to practice applying these rules. This hands-on approach helped solidify their understanding. At 10 AM, I joined my fellow interns Gopika, Jeena, and Athira for kitchen duty. This experience gave me insight into the daily operations of the school beyond the classroom.  At 5th hour, I went to class 9J and gave notes. Overall ...

Intership day 12

Today was an eventful day at St. Mary's School as we observed Anti-Drugs Day. The morning began with a powerful demonstration by our NCC students, who marched from Palayam carrying flames in their hands. This symbolic gesture represented their commitment to illuminating the dangers of drug abuse and lighting the way towards a drug-free society. Later in the day, during the 6th hour, I had the opportunity to observe Class 9Q's science lesson. The focus was on the Bohr atomic model, a fundamental concept in chemistry. The teacher employed various engaging activities to help students grasp this complex topic. Additionally, an informative video was shown to reinforce the students' understanding of atomic structure. Some key points from the day: 1. NCC students' march:     - Started from Palayam    - Students carried flames    - Raised awareness about drug abuse 2. Class 9Q science lesson:    - Topic: Bohr atomic model    - Hands-on acti...
