Intership day 13
Today was another busy day in my internship at St. Mary's School. I started with morning duty, working alongside Haritha, Navya, and Anandu to manage the student lines as they arrived. It's always interesting to observe the different energy levels and moods of the students as they start their school day.
During the first hour, I was called in for a substitution class. I decided to make the most of this unexpected opportunity by engaging the students with some brain-teasing puzzles. It was rewarding to see their faces light up as they worked through the challenges. This activity not only kept them occupied but also helped stimulate their problem-solving skills.
After the puzzle session, I took some time to check the students' notes. It's important to ensure they're keeping up with their coursework and maintaining organized study materials. I provided some feedback and suggestions for improvement where needed.
To wrap up the substitution hour, I spent a few minutes offering words of motivation to the class. I believe it's crucial to encourage students and remind them of their potential, especially as they navigate the challenges of their academic journey.
Later in the day, I had another substitution for the 9th grade. I followed a similar structure, adapting the puzzles and motivational talk to suit their age group and academic level.
Overall, it was a fulfilling day. These experiences are teaching me valuable lessons about classroom management, adaptability, and the importance of engaging students in various ways. I'm looking forward to what the rest of this internship will bring!
