Internship day 19,8/7/24
July 18, 2024 - A Day in the Life of a Teacher Trainee
Today was another eventful day in my teaching internship at St. Mary's School. The day started early with evening duty, where I helped supervise students and ensure a smooth transition at the end of the school day.
During the second period, I had the opportunity to teach class 9Q. I focused on delivering a comprehensive lesson, providing important notes to the students, and completing the "Let's Assess" section of our curriculum. To reinforce the material, I also assigned some engaging activities for the class to work on.
One of the highlights of the day came after classes when we celebrated the feast of St. Ivanios. It was a special occasion as everyone from MTTC (Mar Theophilus Training College, I assume) joined us for the celebration. We gathered to pray at St. Ivanios' tomb, which was a touching and spiritually enriching experience.
This day was a perfect blend of teaching responsibilities and cultural celebrations, showcasing the diverse experiences one can have as a teacher trainee. It reinforced my appreciation for the profession and the school's rich traditions.
As I reflect on today's events, I'm grateful for the varied experiences this internship provides - from classroom management to participating in important school traditions. Each day brings new challenges and learning opportunities, helping me grow as an educator.
